The Gallery on the Corner

An existing retail unit on Northumberland Street in Edinburgh’s New Town was converted into a gallery and workspaces for Autism Initiative. The gallery is likely to be the only inclusive art specific gallery in Scotland and will sell work by anyone who has a disability or has suffered from some sort of disadvantage in his or her life. In addition, up to a quarter of employees at the gallery will have Autism Spectrum Condition. It is incredibly difficult for people with autism to secure employment, which is why they will be offered a mix of retail opportunities and apprenticeships in art.

The Cafe on the Corner

Another project for the Autism Initiative. The property was already an existing cafe. The new design concentrated on a more welcoming counter directly opposite the entrance, which allowed the WC and storage to be tucked away in the corner. The sitting area remained in the same area but was completely redecorated and finished along with the rest of the cafe. The kitchen was also refitted.and the exterior was repainted with new hand painted signage.
Located on Hill Street in Edinburgh's New Town, it is open weekdays 8am to 4pm and serves fantastic food.

Reception Desks

Inscape have often been asked to build and sometimes design office reception desks for various clients.
A reception desk is often the first point of contact between business and customer so it is important that the desk reflects the character of the business.
