Here are a selection of images from a trip to Toronto in Dec. 2001.

Toronto is placed on the North Western shore of Lake Ontario in Southern Canada. It prides itself on being one of the safest urban environmnents in the world.

That is an extremely commendable fact given its urban population is about 2.5 million and around 50% of that population were born outside of Canada. The Torontonians estimate there to be over 100 different languages or dialects spoken here. Incidentally it is the fifth largest city in North America after Mexico City, New york, LA and Chicago.

It is also a very clean, fresh and warm city and absolutely well worth the journey. Gail celebrated her 40th birthday here with a well remembered meal in the revolving restaurant atop the CN Tower.

Architecturally it is the home city of Frank Gehry, the starting point of the official longest street in the world, Yonge Street and the site of the worlds tallest freestanding building, The CN Tower. Toronto also has the only authentic castle in North America, the Casa Loma.
