Work on site has finally begun at Regent Terrace Mews.
After various hitches and hold-ups the demolition and steel phase of the contract is underway.
The project is a hybrid of an earlier project at 17 Royal Terrace Mews, where an existing Garage Mews was modified to contain the new building. (see our projects page)
At Regent Terrace we are to completely demolish the existing Mews and insert a new dwelling in its place.
Further details will become available as the project develops but at this stage we are still in the process of carefully demolishing the existing structure. This is an onerous process whereby elements of the new structure replace demolished sections of the existing building in sequence and in order that the integrity of the two adjacent buildings suffers no disturbance.
The pictures show the roof and internal partitions removed to make way for the new steel roof sections.
Next stage will to be to build the new roof structure which whilst keeping the rest of the works dry will also serve to brace the neighbouring properties whilst the remainder of the demolition proceeds.
