A town councillor in Wales had a beautiful view of the mountains, until a new neighbour purchased the land below his house and began building a new home for himself... And this is a true story.
The new building was 18 inches higher than the planning department had approved, so the Councillor still mad about his lost view, went to the local authority to make sure they enforced the roof line height.
The new neighbour had to drop the roof height, which was quite a difficult procedure and caused considerable extra expense.
As the project progressed the Councillor again had cause to call the Planning Department this time angry at the style of the newly fitted ventilation shutters.
He didn't like the look of these vents and asked the planning department to investigate!
When they went to his home to see what the vents looked like the images opposite is what they found. Now a permanent part of the Councillors outlook.
The Local Authority said the vents could stay since there was no planning law referring to shutter design.

I think this is a true story but it wasn't in Wales, it was in Utah in the USA. But still a good tale. |
