A principal part of this job is to bring light and a staircase down into the vaulted basement area. The process in achieving that will be long forgotten by the time the works are complete and so these images record some of the preparation required before the slot through the barrel vaulted ceiling can be cut.
At the last count there were 64 props, 26 scaffold poles and 72 various shackles as well as the timber support structure.
