Allermuir House

The first phase of our project for Architects Malcolm Fraser and clients Sue and Scott Gibson for a substantial new extension forming a kitchen, dining and garden room to their Grade A listed house in Colinton was completed in time for their annual fireworks party in November. The house was designed by Architect Robert Rowand Anderson in 1879.

We continued with the work and have completed renovation and decoration works in the utility areas of the main house itself, replacing the original kitchen with a very large utility space complete with units designed and installed by Smallbone of Devices. The main kitchen in the new extension, the new utility room and an adjacent cloakroom were all fitted out with units from the Smallbone range. This second phase to the works was completed for the Christmas holiday period.

Since then a comprehensive lighting system designed by David Brown Lighting has been installed in the front and rear gardens and to the delight of any technophile a multi colour-change lighting system running the full length of the Ril has also been fitted. The water feature was designed by Horner and MacLenan, landscape architects and expertly installed by Water Gems of South Queensferry. They are now in the process of being commissioned. We expect to be fully complete by the end of March.
