Inscape Joinery "Each a glimpse then gone forever"

FROM THE EDITOR!
Great correspondence from the kind of client you would want to work for all the time.
Amidst the usual pressures of trying to keep promises you have made, which you can't, and meeting impossible deadlines, which you also can't and coping with the things that don't arrive when they should (like your workforce) or aren't all there when they do (also like your... maybe not) and deal with the promises other contractors make which they don't keep or even if they do they tell you the promise didn't include that other bit of work which was the thing you had asked them to do in the first place. (life of a contractor I'm afraid if you're thinking of trying it) a couple of notes like the following two are a breath of fresh air, and don't worry about the ending, the guys were only away for bacon rolls!

Dear Aidan and Gail,

You wouldn't want me to turn into one of those miserable sods who only
gets in touch when he's got some complaining to do, would you? so I
thought I'd let you know that the lead plumber and the roofers are
here and making loud hammering noises, which makes me very happy. And the sun is shining upon their labours.

Yours,

Peter

Dear Aidan and Gail

Silly me - I shouldn't have said that (like going out without an
umbrella when it's not raining): the roofers and lead plumber drove
away just after I sent that message, and there is an eerie silence in
Mayfield Terrace ... at least the sun is still shining.
